Idol Hopeful Accused of Stealing Songs

Michael Johns, the Australian charmer who auditioned in San Diego, apparently has a past.

Back in 2000, Johns, who was then allegedly going by the name Michael Lee, joined an existing band called 'Film'. The band had previously recorded an album and Lee recorded a second album with them. One of the songs on the album was called 'Q' and was apparently part of the band's repertoire before Lee joined the group.

After the band was offered a record deal, Lee left the band and started shopping himself around as a solo artist. He re-recorded the song 'Q', renaming it 'So Alive' and claiming it as his own work.

Sheen and Richards in Reality-TV Battle

Actor Charlie Sheen and his ex-wife, Denise Richards, are engaged in another legal battle, this time over reality TV.

Richards plans to be in a new reality TV show and wants the couple's two daughters, 3-year-old Sam and 2-year-old Lola, to participate. According to California law, Sheen must consent in order for the girls to participate, and thus far he is refusing.

Richards is asking the court to overrule Sheen's rights in the matter and allow her daughters to be filmed.

Katherine McPhee Snubbed

According to recent reports, Scottish singer KT Tunstall has snubbed a chance to perform a duet with Katherine McPhee, an American Idol runner-up.

Tunstall says, "I'm not a big fan of the reality TV-show-pop-star thing. It chokes the market in terms of young original talent. There's a strong element of karaoke in pop TV shows. I like artists who fire my imagination."

I guess it's safe to say she doesn't have the McPheever.

Participants are set to include Daniel Baldwin, Jeff Conaway, former American Idol contestant Sienna Miller, and Brigitte Nielson. Camera crews will follow the addicts around as they seek treatment with Dr. Drew and document how drug and alcohol problems have affected their failing careers.
