Idol Hopeful Accused of Stealing Songs

Michael Johns, the Australian charmer who auditioned in San Diego, apparently has a past.

Back in 2000, Johns, who was then allegedly going by the name Michael Lee, joined an existing band called 'Film'. The band had previously recorded an album and Lee recorded a second album with them. One of the songs on the album was called 'Q' and was apparently part of the band's repertoire before Lee joined the group.

After the band was offered a record deal, Lee left the band and started shopping himself around as a solo artist. He re-recorded the song 'Q', renaming it 'So Alive' and claiming it as his own work.
